In Eighth grade I took French and Algebra 1 over at the high school, both of which were considered Freshman classes. Since I started my "high school math career" a year early, I have been bumped up a year in the math courses (i.e. I took the "Sophomore" Geometry as a Freshman), and now that I'm a Sophomore, I am in Algebra 2, a "Junior" class. Mrs. Stroud teaches Algebra 2, and I love her as a teacher. In this class you review information that you learned in Algebra 1, and then you go on to learn new, MUCH more difficult things. So far this year I have learned more about quadratic equations and parabolas, an I've been introduced to ellipses and hyperbolas. I have a good and sound understanding of math, so I do very well in this class. However, I can't take all the credit because Mrs. Stroud shows the class step-by-step what to do for every problem, and she answers any questions you have in the best way that she can. Overall, I like the class and do very well in it, but I honestly don't think I will ever use any of the equations after I get out of school.
This is an example of what my Algebra 2 notes look like. These notes are over a new subject that's introduced during Algebra 2- ellipses. Ellipses are probably the most difficult thing I've ever studied in math, but they still aren't too terribly hard to understand and master. I like that Mrs. Stroud gives at least one example for each problem that we do in her class, it makes the concepts easier to understand. I currently have an A in Agebra 2.
This was a homework assignment that I had in Algebra 2; it was over parabolas. I personally think that learning about things like this are kinda of pointless, but I do it so I can pass the class. I got a check mark on this assignment, which means that I got full credit.
