Career Search is another class that is required for graduation. Mrs. Metzger teaches the class, and I personally don't mind the class. In Career Search you basically look at future options for yourself and do projects on them, but you learn about all the options out there. It is a semester class, and so far this semester I have done several projects. Every person does a timeline on positive and negative things in their past and then some positive and negative things that they think/hope will happen in their future. There is also a powerpoint project on an occupation that you want to have one day (or one that just looks interesting), and a college research project where your research 3 colleges that look "interesting." The latest thing that my class is doing in Career Search is job shadowing, and I'm looking forward to my shadow in Bay Park Hospital Surgery. I think that this class is helpful and very, very easy to pass. If you take it seriously, you might just learn something that could change the rest of your life!

Undergraduate School Sort (OCIS)
I really like the projects and activities we do on OCIS. On this website you can do research on colleges, occupations, and financial aid. You can basically plan your future (or pretend to) on this website. I like the fact that it puts all the important college information into one, easily accessible place. This particular activity was an Undergraduate School Sort; you got to pick the major(s), state(s), setting, and everything else that you want in a college. Then, the site would give you a list of colleges that fit your criteria. I had 61 schools fit my criteria, and I was very satisfied with the results.

This was a Career Research project that I had to do. I researched an Anesthesiologist. Again, all the information came from OCIS, and that was helpful. I liked this project because it allowed me to research the career that I want to have; I even learned new things about the career. I did really well on the project, I got a 100%!
