I am not a history fan at all, so when it comes to favorite school subjects, it does not even make the list. However, U.S History is a required class, so in order to graduate, I have to suffer through my aversion to the subject.
Mr. Johnson teaches the class, and he is in fact a good teacher, but he scares a lot of his students with his imposing size and sarcastic humor. I, however, do like him as a teacher. I like the fact that he talks about every subject that we learn about; he doesn't expect us to listen to a powerpoint presention and then take a test over the information the next day. Also, I do well in the class, so that makes it a little more bearable.
This was a powerpoint that I did on Noah Webster, for U.S. History. Noah Webster is accredited with producing the first American dictionary. From this project, I learned a lot about the history of the American's English language. I did very well on this project, and it wasn't difficult at all. I wish we did more of these projects in U.S. History class.
This is part of the 1920s test that I took in U.S. History. The 1920s was probably one of the most interesting things that we have learned about in this class. I still didn't like learning about it, and very few aspects of the time sparked any interest in me, but there were a few that did. The Speakeasies, Flappers, and Prohibition were kind of interesting, but that's about it. Nevertheless, I did well on the test; I got a 100%.
